I Pretend To Work, Andy Smith
After posting about the Waitrose Magazine illustration earlier, I took a look through Andy’s portfolio and found more terrific lettering illustrations.
Based in Hastings on the south coast of England, he graduated from the Royal College of Art in London. His work aims to capture “humour, energy and optimism” and are produced to achieve a handmade, tactile feel.
Above is a limited edition, varnished silkscreen print and a set of greetings cards produced for Nineteen Seventy Three that feature a good cross section of his lettering prints.

When I received this design from Cy Coffman of Nudge, I was very excited to get started. The subtle circle texture as a blind impression worked out very well to frame in the contact information at the bottom.
Be sure check out studionudge.com and their impressive website and design work!
